While the reveal of an all-new Porsche 911 is certainly huge news in the auto industry, it’s perhaps less thrilling knowing that the car isn’t some dramatic new design, but just a new rendition on the classic lines of the German sports car. Then again, these photos might change your mindPorsche has just released a selection of high-gloss pics, highlighting the car’s longer and lower shape, with a more pointed front end. It’s still undeniably a Porsche, but it’s nice to see the German sports car maker has finally loosened the handcuffs on its design department if only slightlyThe car itself has a lower overall height and is longer than the outgoing 911 by 3.9-inches. New Carrera models get a 3.4-liter flat-six engine with 350-hp, while the Carrera S is powered by a 3.8-liter version with 400-hp. Carrera models are capable of a 4.4 seconds 0-60 time, or 4.2 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package. Carrera S models can hit 60-mph in just 4.1 seconds, dropping that time to 3.9 seconds with an optional Sport Chrono Package.Priced at $82,100 for the Carrera, Carrera S models start at $96,400.
