Toyota spent $1.29M on lobbying in 2Q

Toyota Motor Corp. spent $1.29 million in the second quarter lobbying on tax incentives for alternative energy vehicles, patent laws, biofuel legislation and other issues.
That's down 20 percent from the $1.61 million it spent in the second quarter of 2010, but more than the $1.04 million it spent in the first quarter of this year. The Japanese automaker also lobbied the government on vehicle repair and fuel cell legislation.
In the latest April-to-June period, Toyota lobbied both the U.S. House and Senate, according to the report filed July 20 with the House clerk's office.
