Toyota League Cup result: Phattalung 1 – 0 FC Phuket

Phuket lost 1-0 at Phattalung FC in the first leg of their quarterfinal pairing with the Division Two side last night.

The two teams appeared to be headed for a scoreless draw until Phattalung scored in the 80th minute on a long shot by Anukon Sangrum that was deflected into the

The SiamSport website described the deflection as a “beautiful goal” and sacrastically named the Frenchman “Man of the Match”.

The loss, which brings
Phuket’s dismal no-win record on the road to 11, means they will need to win 2-1 on aggregate in the return leg at Surakul Stadium to advance to the finals.

A huge crowd is expected for the match, which kicks off at 6pm on Wednesday

In other matches, all involving Thai Premier League sides, Chonburibeat MuangThong Utd 3-2, while Chiangrai Utd held Thai Port to a 1-1 draw.
Phuket can get past the Division Two upstarts, they will earn the right to play the winner of the Chiangrai pairing in the semifinals.
