A tow truck driver was assaulted in Pearsall last night while trying to deliver a stolen Mercedes Benz to a holding yard.Wanneroo police had identified the stolen car after thieves crashed it into a market garden.Three men in a black utility chased the tow truck driver and tried to make him stop as he was delivering the MercedesThe driver stopped at a petrol station and was punched in the face by one of the men.The driver and the service station attendant took refuge behind a security grill as the men smashed the tow truck with chains and then fled.The offenders were in their mid twenties.The main offender was wearing a white jacket and had a rat's tail.Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
