The annual River 2 River Car Cruise rolls into town Friday, and promises to satisfy car enthusiast’s hunger while bringing friends and family together. Galesburg’s single-largest one day event begins at 4 p.m., although parking for participants will be available after 1 p.m.special guest who could be in attendanceHe’s been invited. His officeit’s a definite possibility if everything works out,If he is in attendance,will be signing legislation “that is very positive to car collectors and antique car owners,The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Don Moffitt, R-Gilson, allows antique vehicles to be driven anywhere from April to October. Right now, the law allows for those cars only to be driven to and from shows.Beyond the new legislation, there will be plenty to entice those in attendance.“If the weather holds and it’s a nice evening, we expected between 800 and 1,000 cars in attendance,”And that includes everything from vintage Model Ts to hot rods, muscle cars and limited edition vehicles.We expect a variety of domestic to foreign cars, the Corvette Club comesdown, so does Quad City Cruisers,We get a lot of participation from a lot of different clubs and groups.It’s a pretty simple showWe try to keep it that way. It’s just a matter of coming down and parking. All we ask is they park perpendicular tothe curb
