You are known to be very stylish, how would you define  style?
STYLE is what gives anybody the power to direct. In fashion, it’s something that gives you the tonic to prove your dexterity. Style is knowing the rudiments of your trade and your creativity. That is what showbiz is all about. I know my style; we know what it is, I make statements in everything I do, including dressing up. For me, style is the making of a man.

How can you describe your style?

Mine is contemporary and classic, but not loud.

What lifestyle material do you have weakness for?

Like I said, I like classic material. I want you to come around and see panache.

My ideal home is a clean and classy abode; an example is what I’m trying to put up here.

I dress for the occasion and I enjoy a lot of good stuffs from Percy’s Couture, Vivid Imagination, Mudi, Mastay Dollar, Bashy Kuti and a whole lot of them. I enjoy creativity from them in the area of apparels .I do classic Western attires too from Louise Vuitton, Gucci and other top brands.

Oh my God! I don’t compromise on my shoes, as a matter of fact, I’ve lost count. I have got LV, Gucci and quite lot of good ones, Hermes is another fantastic leather but many people don’t know about Hermes shoes because they feel it’s expensive.

How does the King like to smell?

I use different kinds of frangrances and I have them in different spices. Maybe, I will invite you to my house in Lagos, so you can see for yourself.

Off the stage, how do you unwind?

I do relax a lot. If I’m at home in Lagos, I do my exercise and attend to people. If I’m in Canada, I go sun-bathing, play golf and go yachting. I’m trying to create an amusement for myself, a swimming pool, games room and other things in my new house.

What kind of music do you listen to?

We have had countless number of entertainers that have given a good account of themselves. I like D banj. 9ice is also another guy that I like; he is unique because of his infusion of Yoruba messages and proverbs. I like Sasha, Weird MC, she’s been on for long and she is versatile. I like Adewale Ayuba, he is good, and he has a unique style. Internationally, I’m a fan of Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton and most recently Rihanna. At the corner of my house, I listen to all good music.

As someone who has mingled with all classes of Nigerian, can you mention a few stylish Nigerians that you know?

We have a lot of people who are stylish, but there is this fantastic guy, Eyimofe Atake ,I love his style, he commands my respect.
Tell us about your new house in Ijebu and why did it take you so long to erect one in your home town?
This is not my first house in Ijebu Ode; I already have one where my mum lives now .My decision to move to the GRA necessitated this.

Rumour is rife that you want to finish up before Salah, because you are awaiting a chieftaincy title…

I’m a very quiet person. When it comes to things like that, I’m just doing what I’m doing not specifically because of anything .I’m not seeking for any chieftaincy title. By lineage, I’m a Prince, I was born into the Fidipote Ruling house of Ojushagbola, I can never be doing this because I want to take a title. I felt there is a need for me to have a place here, where I can come and relax with my people .I thank God that I’m doing it now. It’s the dictate of God.
Does it mean you’ll be retiring here, after its completion?
Unfortunately, I’m not contemplating retiring from music, I’m still very strong and the urge to go on is still very much there, but my mum is old and she always want me around .For many years, I’ve been going on a yearly pilgrimage to Saudi to perform Hajj and sometime when I don’t go I’ll probably be in Lagos or somewhere else .I  feel this year I should stay  back here and spend time with my people, during Ileya festive period .I’m a member of  Bobakeye, group, and they have shown me so much love over the years. It’s like using it to appreciate all the love.

It is common among Ijebu men to name their mansion, upon completion, what are you going to call this place?

Well I don’t believe in naming it, maybe, I will go back to my lineage and probably call it ‘Ule Omo Ojushagbola, that’s in Ijebu dialect.
Your latest effort ‘Instinct’ was a success, after that what’s next?
I’m still very agile and strong and more than   ready to do more than ‘Instinct’. My music is about yesterday, today and tomorrow. The future of Fuji music is what we witness most of the time in the performances of KI. I give thanks to God for the leadership mantle that rests on me upon the demise of my boss and my musical father, Dr Sikiru Ayinde Barrister; it’s   a big challenge and a call to duty. Although it’s big vacuum, there is no contention that the leadership of fuji music naturally falls on me. In Fuji, you have not seen anything yet, it’s still growing and we also have many young ones learning the ropes.
Now that the leadership is on you, what are you doing to make peace reign?
Let me make this statement, there is no contention about the leadership in Fuji music, we are all living in peace and harmony. There is no problem in bringing everybody together. All we need is respect, I know my seniors  and I know my juniors. The best we can do is to give respect to whom it’s due. We unnecessarily flex what shouldn’t be and people don’t like to say the truth. So, things are getting better and we are moving forward after the demise of Ayinde Barrister.
