Mercedes Trucks Race Into Europe

Few would guess it given their immaculate appearance but four Mercedes-Benz Actros MegaSpace tractor units had all clocked-up more than half a million kilometres when local dealerdelivered them toheadquarters in Rye. The East Sussex-based outfit uses the trucks to freight its four mighty Nissanalong with tyres, spares and equipment, and a hospitality rig. Now in its second season, World Championship brings together 20teamsand five manufacturers in a series that represents the pinnacle of sports car racing – JRM competes with two teams: JR Motorsports and Sumo Power
JRM settled on the second hand trucks as the best option according to JRM Group Transport Manager Carl Holden:
“We prefer to devote as much of our budget as possible to the development of our race cars, so ensuring that we’re always competitive where it really matters – on the track! Although they travel to circuits throughout Europe our trucks are not being used intensively and only cover about 10,000 miles a year. So why would we choose new vehicles, when Rossetts could supply top-quality used ones at a fraction of the price?”
The trucks were all delivered in perfect condition. They’re spacious and comfortable for our drivers, impressively fuel-efficient and haven’t missed a beat. Inspections and maintenance are carried out under contract by Rossetts’ Eastbourne workshop, while the Mercedes-Benz back-up on the Continent also gives us complete peace of mind, so we couldn’t be more pleased.” 
JRM believe an approved used mercedes benz is the next best thing to a brand new truck. Vehicles marketed through the scheme are prepared both mechanically and cosmetically to a very high standard, having undergone a thorough inspection. Approved used vehicles are also sold with a minimum of six months’ breakdown cover and MoT certificate.
It’s an approach which is clearly paying dividends because after 14 rounds of this season’s Championship, and with just three still to go, JR Motorsports’ German duo Lucas Luhr and Michael Krumm were leading the drivers’ standings, with the team lying second, just five points off the lead.
