Making maritime moments at Port Washington

which launches Friday for a run through Sunday.
Port Washington becomes a port of call for a fleet of amazing ships, including the Pride of Baltimore II, a replica of an 1812-era clipper. Visitors can sail aboard one of the tall ships or watch other sailors attempt to make it to dry land during the Cardboard Boat Regatta at 2 p.m. Saturday.
If you are a lubber of land, not lake, there's still plenty to do at the Heritage Festival. Two stages provide the music, vendors provide the food, and artisans provide the arts and crafts for sale. Strolling performers will instruct visitors on tying knots and other nautical skills.
Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Su
nday. Admission to the lakefront festival grounds is free. Prices for various sails are available
