The students are okay, but an Atlanta school bus driver had to be taken off the bus on a stretcher after an accident Tuesday morning.
It happened on Roswell Road at Chastain Road at about 8:30 a.m.
More than a dozen students were on the bus on their way to North Atlanta High School.
The Atlanta Police officer on the scene
bus was stopped, with red lights flashing, when the driver of a white Mercedes clipped the back of the bus. The officerhe plans to cite the driver of the car for following too closely."She was probably looking that direction and didn't see the bus and wound up hitting the bus,Officer Pete Cunningham.The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with injuries. Atlanta Public Schools sent a transportation supervisor to investigate and brought in another bus to take the kids to school.
