NeVer SaY neVeR: BMW pulls the wraps off the M3 DTM Concept Car

G-Power released details and video announcing that the BMW M3 fitted with the SK II “Sporty Drive” supercharger kit just set a new speed record at the 2011 Nardo High-Speed Test in Italy. The Germans from Auto, Motor und Sport organized these tests while the German model was driven by the Vice President and Technical Director from G-Power, Christian Stöber. If you are not up-to-date with the G-Power M3 SK II package, you might want to know that the German specialists managed to squeeze 570 horsepower and 565 Nm of torque at 3,900 rpm from the standard BMW M3.

This means an increase of 150 horses and 165 Nm of torque over the standard M3, significant tweaks able to provide noteworthy improvements. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is now possible in 4,4 seconds while the 0 to 200 km/h sprint is done in 12,9 seconds.

The modified German model managed to hit a top speed of 333,29 km/h (207,10 mph) at the Nardo track but G-Power claims that it can reach even 340 km/h if there would be an additional gear. Besides the improved performance figures, the G-Power BMW M3 features Silverstone rims fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, a GM3 RS coilover suspension and a high-performance braking system. The SK II “Sporty Drive” costs €11,500 without including installation.

In practice, this results in an infinite straight line for miles of continuous full load driving, an operating condition that puts utmost load on the engine. Add uncomfortably high ambient temperatures and it simply doesn’t get any more challenging,”
