We currently don’t know if there will be a Touring version of the freshly revealed bmw F10 but undoubtedly there are a lot of fans waiting for the wagon version, mainly the U.S customers who are not very content with the current BMW 5 Series GT. However, we know that the German specialists from Edo Competition decided to create a complete tuning package bringing both styling and performance upgrades for the actual BMW M5 Touring, internally known as E61.BMW M5 Touring Dark Edition Edo Competition called the new tuning kit the M5 Dark Edition, the body paint along other components being of course finished in black.
Besides the black finish and the new 20-inch alloy wheels in the same color, the styling kit features new front and rear bumpers, a roof wing, quad-pipe exhaust system with new tips but also 255/35 R20 (front) and 285/30 R20 (rear) Dunlop tires for optimum performance. Inside, the German tuner provides high quality materials such as leather upholstery, carbon fiber trim, new speedometer with white dials plus backlit logo and more.

Fortunately, some significant improvements can be seen under the bonnet as well, Edo Competition squeezing 555 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque from the 5.0-liter V10 unit. This was possibly mainly thanks to a revised ECU unit, high-performance catalytic converters, high-flow air filters and a new exhaust system. With such resources, the BMW M5 Touring Dark Edition sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 305 km/h by getting rid of the electronic limiter. The acceleration from 100 – 200 km/h is also improved being now possible in less than 10 seconds.
“But the edo M5 Dark Edition is not just an athlete; it also makes a great daily driver with 5 seats and generous cargo space. On the way to the supermarket this rocket ship is perfectly tame, thanks to its remarkable level of comfort and the wonderfully smooth V10 engine. Casual observers would never guess what lurks under the hood. All modifications are carried out exclusively at edo competition Motorsport GmbH in Ahlen,” claims the tuner.
