United Nations appointed a British diplomat, Ian Martin, head of mission in Libya

Appointed by the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon yesterday the British diplomat, Ian Martin, head of the UN mission in Libya.

Martin was the primary advisor to that in terms of planning for post-conflict period in Libya, and held several high level positions at the United Nations for two decades, and will also be an important representative of UN Secretary-General in Libya.
