Faulty driveshaft spurs BMW recall

BMW is recalling 2011MY 328i xDrive and 335i xDrive models in the US due to a possible problem with the front driveshaft. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the driveshaft attachment bolts may not have been tightened correctly and could become loose during driving. This could lead to a loss of power to the front wheels and eventually a vehicle breakdown, the agency warns.

The recall covers 190 units. No accidents or injuries have been linked to the fault. To fix the problem, dealers will remove and replace the front driveshaft attachment bolts on affected vehicles.
