Autoliv develops MVSS for BMW

Autoliv has announced that in response to the market trend towards Advanced Driver Assistance Systemsit has developed a forward-looking Mono Vision Sensing System for BMWThis is aimed at improving driver awareness and, as a consequence, reducing traffic accidents, injuries and even fatalities involving vehicles.The new technology is being featured for the first time by BMW at the 2011 IAA in FrankfurtAutoliv developed and recently launched the camera-based for BMW. For this specificdesign, Autoliv is the system integrator and provides the complete system of hardware including the camera which is mounted between the rear-view mirror and the front windshieldand the electronic control unit which includes anQ2 chip providedThe main focus of the system is safety in respect to forward collision warning, which alarms a driver to an imminent collision with the vehicles in front as well as in the case of an unintentional lane departure.
